Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about AlertIO pricing and features.

What counts as a "device"?

Any endpoint that connects to AlertIO — a Chromebook running the extension, a Windows or Linux laptop with the agent, an Android tablet, or a Raspberry Pi-powered display. Each concurrent connection counts as one device.

Can I upgrade or downgrade later?

Absolutely. You can change your plan at any time from your billing settings. Upgrades are prorated, so you only pay the difference for the remainder of your billing cycle.

Is there a contract or commitment?

No contracts. All plans are billed monthly and you can cancel at any time. Your service continues through the end of the paid billing period.

What if I need more than 10,000 devices?

We'd love to help! Contact our sales team and we'll work with you on a custom Enterprise plan tailored to your district's needs.

How does IP & network fencing work?

Network fencing lets you restrict alert delivery to devices connected from approved campus networks only. You configure your WAN IPs or CIDR subnets, and alerts from fenced webhooks will only reach on-campus devices.

What devices are supported?

AlertIO supports Chromebooks (via Chrome extension), Windows and Linux laptops and desktops (native agents), Android devices, and any screen with a browser. Perfect for DAKboards, SMARTboards, and Promethean boards.

How does AlertIO compare to other school mass notification software?

Unlike general-purpose mass notification tools, AlertIO is purpose-built for K-12 schools. It sends full-screen visual alerts directly to every device on campus — Chromebooks, laptops, desktops, TVs, and tablets — without requiring phone numbers, email lists, or app downloads. It's a dedicated classroom alert system that works on the devices your school already owns.

Is AlertIO a good alternative to traditional classroom alert systems?

Yes. If you're looking for classroom alert system alternatives that go beyond intercoms and PA systems, AlertIO delivers full-screen lockdown, evacuation, and shelter alerts to every screen in every classroom. It works alongside existing systems or as a standalone school safety SaaS platform with no hardware to install.

What makes AlertIO one of the best school emergency notification systems?

AlertIO combines instant full-screen alerts, cross-platform device support (Chrome, Windows, Linux, Android), IP-based network fencing, webhook integrations, and zero-touch Google Workspace deployment — all in a simple, affordable school safety SaaS package. There are no contracts, no per-user fees, and every plan includes all features.
